1मनश्शे यूसुफ का ज्येष्ठ पुत्र था, इसलिए उसके वंशजों को भी चिट्ठी डालकर पैतृक-अधिकार के लिए भूमि प्रदान की गई। गिलआद का पिता और मनश्शे का ज्येष्ठ पुत्र माकीर एक सैनिक था; अत: उसे गिलआद और बाशान प्रदेश प्रदान किए गए।
