Iconium -- The capital of Lyconia.

Acts 14:6

Lystra -- Located twenty miles from Iconium, the home of Timothy.

Acts 14:11

Gods are come down -- Legend that before this Zeus and Hermes had come to Lystra and no one recognized nor honored them. The other gods critized Lystra for it. Apparently didn’t want to let this happen again.

apostles Barnabas -- Barnabas was an "apostle" or "messenger" of the church at Antioch being "sent out" by them. Acts 13:1-3]

Acts 14:16

Suffered -- allowed. The Permissive will of God - God allows

(The Causative will of God - God causes.) cf. 1 Corinthians 10:13.

Perga -- Inland from the coast some 8 miles.

Atalia -- Sea port of Perga.
