^{1) "And he shewed me a pure river of water of life," (kai edeiksen moi potamon hudatos zoes) "And he showed (to me) a river of water of life," not a river of dead-water, saltwater, or polluted water, but one that would sustain life. Note Ezekiel’s vision of holy waters, Ezekiel 47:1-9, and Zechariah’s, Zechariah 14:8; Psalms 36:7-9.}

^{2) "Clear as crystal," (lampron hos krustallon) "Lamp bright or brilliant as crystal," indicating life, purity, and vitality. It is beyond all possibility of pollution or contamination, Revelation 7:17.}

By reading, heeding, and holding it dear, men grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, 2 Peter 3:18; John 5:30; 1 Timothy 2:15.}

^{THE FINAL MESSAGE OF THE BIBLE v. 8-19}

^{1) "And I John saw these things and heard them," (kago loannes ho akouon kai blepon) "And I, John, am the one who saw and heard these things;” this certifies the writer of the book; it is a straightforward, acknowledged record from God, to John, about Jesus Christ, conveyed to him by Inspiration and by word of mouth from God the Father, Jesus Christ, and Holy Angels.}

^{2) "And when I had heard and seen," (kai hote ekousa kai eblepsa) "And when I heard and saw;” this final vision of the place, the persons, and the glory of the New Jerusalem and the New Heaven and New earth, Revelation 21:1 to Revelation 22:21, as afore shown and reported by one of the seven Angels, Revelation 21:9; Revelation 21:15; Revelation 21:17; Revelation 22:1; Revelation 22:6; Revelation 22:8-9.}
