1योआश ने इस्राएल में येहू के राज्यकाल के सातवें वर्ष में शासन करना आरम्भ किया। योआश ने चालीस वर्ष तक यरूशलेम में शासन किया। योआश की माँ सिब्या बर्शेबा की थी।
