1शमूएल की मृत्यु हो गयी। सब इस्राएली एकत्र हुए। उन्होंने शमूएल के लिए शोक किया। तत्पश्चात् उन्होंने उसे उसके घर, रामाह नगर में गाड़ दिया। दाऊद उठा! वह माओन के निर्जन प्रदेश में चला गया।
